Reflective notes 31/3/23 typed vers.

I drew over the top of portions as an added visual reflection in dialogue with the text. I thought it might be helpful to type out what I've written to make it easier to follow.

Express gratitude to friends for being there.

*Portraits: consuming someone for your own needs vs. seeing them for who they are

Nureyev: male dancer incredibly supportive if making female the star. Supporting her rather than guiding. Nonsexual, nonthreatening. Strong + gentle. There for HER. Capable, skillful, enhancing each other, better version of you.

Do I deserve to have that?

Romeo and Juliet. Supportive love

A relationship doesn't have to be easy for it to be good.

The Tempest.

Concerted. A ballet is choreographed.

Choreographed - doesn't need to guide her because they both KNOW.

Relationship not always pretty - a relationship as a dancer's foot within the shoe.

Project of individual portraits - what we bring to a relationship is who we are on our own . . .

Not serene - juxtaposition of that with the ballet. Looks graceful but they're breaking toes.

Being image/consumed

Don't think - look at all pieces when Sam is done. What does heart want? What do hands want?

Tears flow and shakes go as old, frozen energy leaving.

^Don’ stop it! Let it happen.

Enjoying life does not make you shallow.

Your keenness has no connection to pain.

You don’t have to feel isolated and emotionally fraught.

AND what is intelligence? FEELING deeply as well as thinking deeply.

Enjoying world is expanding the continuum of experience.

I have 5-6 people who will sit with me and hold my hand if I need it.

And then just let it happen. Romeo + Juliet . . .

What comes from your GUTS? From that deep place of hunger? What wants to be said?

Rather than having something to say and then saying it in art, finding out what you want to say through process of creating. Harmonizing and clarifying.
